Director : Danny Boyle
Starring : Dev Patel, Farida Pinto and Anil Kapoor
Movie Review from Apunkechoice.com

An uneducated chaiwala ( Dev Patel ) at a call centre is on the verge of winning 20 million rupees on the Indian version of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’. How did he manage to answer all the questions correctly? Is he a cheat? Well, the show’s host ( Anil Kapoor ) and a local cop ( Irrfan Khan ) certainly think so. But may be he’s not. May be everything that happened in this slumdog’s life somehow conspired to bring him to the hot-seat of the television show where he would know almost all – if not all – the answers!

As we are given flashbacks into the life of the protagonist Jamaal (Dev Patel), we are taken into Mumbai’s underbelly where he grew as a kid with his elder brother Salim and a girl named Lathika.

Orphaned as kids, the three impoverished musketeers of this story have to survive the big bad world of Mumbai. It’s a world where goons take kids under their wing and gouge out their eyes to make them beg on the streets. It’s a world where orphaned girls end up in brothels or as some ganglord’s mistress. It’s a world where young teens take to theft and killing because there’s none but criminals to guide them. It’s a world that Jamaal grew in and out of, but his brother Salim and love Lathika could not.

Against the backdrop of this filth and squalor unfolds a beautiful love story, a story where a guy does the impossible just to find the girl he loves, and in the process wins a few millions as bonus.

BILLU BARBAR

Link Status: Working

Director : Priyadarshan
Music : Pritam
Lyrics : Gulzar, Syed Quadri
Starring : Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone

Movie Review from GLAMSHAM

Irrfan fascinates in his portrayal of a struggling family man with a wife and two kids, with no knowledge of where is next income will come from. His barber's shop in a village in Gudgude is doing bad business, he has no clients left and even his barbers chair can give way any moment. His acerbic tongue, peppered with humour (the joke life has played on him is evident here) does not leave him with many friends and he is constantly requesting the school principal for more time to pay off his children's school fees. Even his children take off after him, where giving a repartee is concerned. BILLU takes it all in good humour and continues his struggle while adding some laugh to his measly existence. His wife (Lara Dutta) is a perfect foil to his character. No one understands Billu better than her.

CHAL CHALA CHAL

Cast: Govinda, Rajpal Yadav, Reema Sen, Om Puri, Asrani
Director : T K Rajeevkumar

Movie Review from Bollywoodexpress.com:
Okay, here's a question. If a film offers you Govinda, Rajpal Yadav, Om Puri and Asrani, what would you expect? At the very least, at least ONE sequence that can make you laugh.

We regret to inform you that `Chal Chala Chal', a monstrosity featuring a bus, a simpleton, and a bunch of greedy guys, has not one, repeat not one single funny moment.

Sure, Govinda is on screen all the time, Rajpal Yadav shows up once in a while. So do Asrani and Om. On their good days, each of these worthies has been known to create rolling-on-the-floor kind of laughter: this is way beyond bad.

We refuse to tell you anything more on the grounds that it will be hurtful to your reviewer's health.

The President is Comming

Director :Kunaal Roy Kapur
Starring :Konkana Sen Sharma, Shernaz patel, Ira Dubey, Vivek Gomber & Satchit puranik
Movie Review from Glamsham.com
THE PRESIDENT IS COMING was to release in November last year. Wonder why the delay? Probably, the makers wanted to time the release with President George W Bush's official exit from the White House, which is slated for later this month. But the timing, I dare say, has nothing to do with the movie's fate at the box office. It's for a niche audience, and will, at the most, run for a week.

Of course, it has a wonderful concept, good cast and is well executed. But for all its finer moments which leave you laughing your guts out at some scenes, it's not something that you will highly recommend. It has its Fs and Bs moments, with the characters going at each other in the quest to win the slot to shake the President's hand, which sometimes shock, more than amuses. But therein lies the honesty of the flick. It's not apologetic.

Victory

Director : Ajitpal Mangat
Music : Anu Malik
Lyrics : Syed Gulrez, Amitabh Varma
Starring :Harman Baweja, Amrita Rao, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover and Dilip Tahil

Movie Review from Glamsham:

This one will do well in the interiors of India; in the small towns where there are aspiring cricketers. VICTORY is all about a small town boy with 'rare' cricketing talent who is suppressed by the system; where selection to the state Ranji team is becoming a nightmare.

Luckily for him, the National team is in Jaipur for a conditioning camp and Vijay (Harman Baweja), who has lost all hope of donning the national colours, is given hope by his coach who has an idea. He wants Vijay to bat against the Indian bowlers and inspire the coach (Dalip Tahil). Vijay, the small town lad from Jaisalmer, makes the trip. He approaches the coach and tells him that he has read his interviews where he says he would give any talent a chance and asks for his chance. The coach scoffs. Vijay walks off. The coach has a change of heart and asks him to prove himself. Bowling to him are Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra. Balls are hit out of the stadium. Lad makes entry into Ranji team. Scores double hundred on debut, storms into the national team.
